Massive congrats to Alex, now a fully qualified surf life saver patrolling the beaches of Sydney, after completing eight weeks of training – two training sessions per week, each session going for around 3 hours, plus additional board skills sessions.
Not only was the training a way to meet new people, learn some new skills, spend more time in the surf, and be an active part of her local community – it also provided Alex with a range of skills she can apply on and off the beach to help in situations that may one day make a difference to someone’s life – i.e. water safety, water rescue, CPR, and first aid – to name a few. “It was honestly one of the most fun and most rewarding things I’ve ever done, I’ve made amazing friends and it’s something I feel really proud to be a part of”. Congrats Alex!
