Victorian School Building Program

Stakeholder and community engagement program

Community engagement services

Initially engaged to rapidly develop strategies, systems and processes for the authority from its inception, Nation Partners has been working with the Victorian School Building Authority’s (VSBA’s) new community engagement team as it delivers engagement for an extensive program of new school buildings and whole-of-precinct education plans across the state.

We’re working flexibly to provide skills, expertise and resources when and where they’re needed most, delivering tailored and targeted support.

Nation Partners has supported a large program of community workshops and creative engagement methods to target harder-to-reach groups. We have supported the VSBA’s busy community engagement team by delivering engagement activities ranging from strategy to design, event management, facilitation, and data analysis and reporting.

Client challenge + benefit delivered

The VSBA sought a comprehensive range of communication and engagement services, including strategy, issues management, materials development, event management and facilitation services.

Working with our trusted specialist partners, Nation Partners has flexibly provided scaled support to meet our client’s specific needs for each project – ranging from individual advisors to a large team.

While no two communities are the same, a consistent approach has been vital to guide engagement activities across VSBA’s large portfolio of projects.

Working collaboratively with the VSBA team, Nation Partners has designed school engagement programs that can be tailored to the project and community at hand, while providing all projects with an effective, uniform approach.

Nation Partners’ support has given the VSBA the extra resources it has needed to deliver an unprecedented work program, and our collaborative working approach has helped further build capability of the VSBA’s new community engagement team – a key objective of our work.

With a huge program of works and tight construction schedules to fit school-year timelines, the VSBA needed engagement for multiple school design projects to be delivered concurrently, and for community feedback to be rapidly synthesised.

Our experienced team has ensured engagement methods and stakeholder questioning draws out the insights the VSBA, school architects and education experts need to create effective school design, and that data analysis produces meaningful results.

We’ve developed a rigorous process for analysing school consultation findings, and provided reports that present community feedback clearly, linking findings to overarching objectives and project staging.
